About
The Sewing Class is designed to introduce girls to the art of sewing, fostering creativity, patience, and the joy of making something by hand. This program covers a wide range of sewing skills, starting with the basics and progressing to more complex techniques. Younger participants will begin by learning how to use sewing tools safely, create simple hand stitches, and complete small projects like sewing a pillow or fabric bracelet. Older girls will progress to working with sewing machines, learning how to read patterns, and completing more intricate projects like clothing items, bags, or home decor pieces. Throughout the course, girls will gain confidence in their abilities to sew, repair, and personalize their belongings, developing skills that will last a lifetime. They’ll also learn the importance of precision, creativity, and patience, all while having fun creating unique, one-of-a-kind items. For girls ages 11-16, crafting projects offer a chance to dive deeper into technique and personal expression. In this session, girls will take on more intricate projects such as creating customized jewelry, decorative pieces, textile arts, and beginner sewing projects like pillows or simple bags. They’ll explore techniques in design, color coordination, and detail work, honing skills that foster patience and focus. Through these projects, girls will learn to problem-solve, make creative decisions, and work with new materials. Crafting also becomes a medium for personal expression, where girls can incorporate their own style into each piece. By the end of the program, each girl will have created a range of projects that reflect her creativity, giving her a strong sense of accomplishment and self-confidence.
